Chamomile can be a drink you enjoy.
A warm cup can have a place in the evening simply because you enjoy it. The problem starts when a pleasant ritual is offered as a treatment with a guaranteed result.

Keep the evidence beside the cup
NCCIH says there is very little information about chamomile for insomnia; the insomnia study identified in a cited review found no benefit. [1] That is a reason to keep the claim modest, rather than promise that tea will fix persistent sleep difficulties.
A tea, an extract and a skin product are also different preparations.
Check whether it suits you
Chamomile can cause allergic reactions, especially in people allergic to related plants. Medicine interactions are another reason to check with a clinician or pharmacist before using herbal products. [1]
If it suits you and you like the flavour, make it according to the packet. You can enjoy the pause without scoring the next night’s sleep against the cup.
Persistent insomnia deserves proper assessment. It does not mean you chose the wrong tea.
Sources, evidence and limits
Evidence basis
[1] NCCIH — Chamomile
Clinical-use and safety sections read.
Limited reliable evidence; allergy and medicine interactions matter.
Least certain: Evidence for insomnia benefit and the individual’s response; herbal preparations vary.
Contrary evidence and limits: Some preliminary studies examine other conditions or preparations; they do not establish tea as an insomnia treatment.
What would change the conclusion: Better trials or an allergy, medication interaction, pregnancy or breastfeeding consideration change advice.
Claims not adopted: No cancer prevention, glowing-skin or chronic-insomnia treatment promise.
